Rosina's Italian Restaurant
Santa Luz · Carmel Valley
During Covid, the owners needed more space for seating. The karate studio directly across from the original restaurant moved to another space, and the property manager made them a deal they could not refuse. I designed the North side space to be cohesive with the original space on the South side, with a vinyl planked floor and a chevron installation of the floor on the back wall. We added velvet drapes with sheers to create a private party area and privacy for the restroom door, and installed identical pendant lights. Custom tufted banquettes were designed in commercial lush blue velvet that can be pushed together for large parties or be individual booths. The grand finale is the mural depicting a scene from Portofino adding playful color and texture. Customers think it's fabric and it's actually commercial vinyl so all that spaghetti sauce can just be wiped clean.
